Nick Goseland
Founder and Managing Principal
Edgewater’s team of specialists is led by its founder, Nick Goseland, a nationally recognized legal search expert focused on partner-level placements at leading law firms. His market insight and trusted relationships with premier firms have earned recognition from Harvard Law School, Bloomberg Law, Lawdragon, Above the Law, and Law360.
Before starting Edgewater, Nick was a Principal and Executive Committee member with an international recruiting firm, where he led the company in attorney placements and helped oversee client services. That experience shaped Edgewater’s consultative approach – advising firms not only on hiring decisions, but on compensation structures, partner expectations, and long-term talent strategy.
Nick practiced law for two years with a top Chambers-ranked litigation boutique and previously spent several years as a corporate trainer in Shanghai. Nick earned his J.D., cum laude, Order of the Coif, from the University of San Diego School of Law, and his B.A. from the University of Colorado. He speaks and reads Mandarin, and has advised clients on cross-border market considerations.
Marielle Buccilli
Director of Operations and Client Engagement
Marielle Buccilli is the Director of Operations and Client Engagement at Edgewater Search Group, where she helps law firms and high-performing partners build lasting, people-centered partnerships.
Before joining Edgewater, Marielle spent over a decade in marketing, government affairs, and advocacy roles at leading Pharma, Biotech, and Medical Device companies, shaping healthcare strategies across the U.S. and Asia. She combines empathy and strategic insight to help high-performing partners find purpose-driven opportunities and feel genuinely supported along the way.
A graduate of The George Washington University and the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business (MBA), Marielle draws on her global background—having lived in Cleveland, Tokyo, Shanghai, London, D.C., and San Francisco—to bring a thoughtful, cross-cultural perspective to every relationship she builds.
Cara Laubscher
Recruitment Specialist
Cara Laubscher is a Recruitment Specialist at Edgewater Search Group, where she combines her marketing background with a consultative approach to connect top legal talent with leading firms across the U.S. She plays an integral role in Edgewater’s high-level partner searches and associate placements for a select group of the firm’s top clients.
Before joining Edgewater, Cara worked in marketing and client relations at Bosman Family Vineyards, gaining experience in communication strategy, brand development, and organizational management.
Cara holds a BPhil Honours degree in Marketing Management and is fluent in both English and Afrikaans. Her strong interpersonal skills, strategic mindset, and discretion make her a key contributor to Edgewater’s success in the legal recruitment space.
Aayush Chandan
Senior Director
With over 6 years in the legal recruiting industry, and having previously worked for two of the largest legal recruiting firms in the country, Aayush is an experienced recruiter skilled at serving candidates and clients alike. He focuses on attorney placements and client services for associates, counsels and partners, with a primary focus on the AmLaw200 and sophisticated boutiques.
Before becoming a recruiter, Aayush worked in the entertainment industry. He attended the University of Minnesota and Yale.
Outside of recruiting, Aayush is on the board (and is the Immediate Past President) of an LA-based non-profit called Journey Out, whose primary mission is to fight sex trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation. He enjoys tennis, cooking and filmmaking. Aayush currently resides in Los Angeles.
